Hotel Campestre Arenal

Pros: It almost felt like being in the jungle. We even saw a baby sloth on the property’s tree upon arrival! Lots of humming birds in the garden, too. :) Staff very friendly.

Pros: Absolutely a great value for the price we paid. The breakfast was so tasty, the rooms were good with air-conditioning. The highlight was the view of the volcano from the pool. Also, very nice big garden. It is not directly in the center of la Fortuna but only a 10min walk in a quite but safe neighborhood.

Cons: Nothing to complain.

Cons: The large chicken farm in the backyard is a bit to get used to (sounds and smell). Rooms in the shared-kitchen area are small and simple, but ok!

An excellent place to stay with easy acces to La Fortuna and the area around Vulcan Arenal.

Pros: Just up the road after the supermarket is Restaurante Doña Flor with excellent food. Flor is a wonderful lady... friendly and welcoming.

Pros: Nice accomodation with swimming pool and great breakfast

Cons: Room a bit small for 6 people

Getaway to the forest

Pros: The garden view room was big and comfy, and with a nice and relaxing view of palms and other vegetation. The staff was kind. Breakfast was ok, nothing special or abundant but in line with other similar places we stayed. Location wise, it's far from the traffic, the only noise came from nature. It's a 25 minute walk into La Fortuna, we felt safe walking in the evening. Only negatives for us maybe the lack of hangers and the soap smelled like bubblegum

Lovely quiet and scenic

Pros: Lovely sized room. Good comfy bed. The site is very spacious lots of grass and nice swimming pool area. Breakfast was included and was adequate. There are lots of staff around who are very friendly and helpful. Lots of cute dogs and cats wandering around. Well managed hotel.

Cons: Rooms missing items no bed side table or shelf no shelf in the shower or towel rail. Pillows were awful ended up sleeping without them. Gap in the window resulted in loads of bugs getting in. The rooms all go into the kitchen which is very open and loud. Woken up in the night by people coming back to make food and early in the morning (5am) by people making food. Long 25min walk into town

Pros: Nice surroundings and area of the hotel with pool and chill zone. Friendly staff.

Cons: Barking dogs during night (noisy).

Pros: The family is super nice they gave us a lot of tips what to do around. The breakfast was very good and the garden with the pool is just amazing. Very quiet place little bit far from the center but if you have a car you are perfectly fine in a safe place with the parking spot.

Cons: The room didn't have a garden view. Would check the bathroom as it looked like there is a molt on the roof.

Pros: Lovely place to stay. Nice swimming pool for kids. Everything works well. A bit far out of town but that was no issue for us - we needed a walk!

Cons: It is out of town and some people might not be happy with this. For us it was not an issue at all
