Tortuguero Adventures Beach House

Wonderful experience, very welcoming, right next to the beach

Pros: The accommodation is really right next to the beach, so it's super convenient if you want to have a quick soak (not much swimming, rip currents). The people at parking La Pavona know Tortuguero Adventures, so it's easy enough to get to/from Tortuguero, you get dropped off directly at their office. The host was really nice, so was the guide for our night walk, honestly a great experience.

Cons: The accommodation, like much of Tortuguero, could use some maintenance, but honestly, it's fairly minor. The room was in pretty good shape but there was some mold here and there and the AC worked the first night, but then started malfunctioning the 2nd night.

Pros: I stayed at the Paisajes property which is right on the beach and really comfortable and quiet. The staff and tour guides at Tortuguero Adventures were all really friendly and helpful and we saw lots of wildlife on the tours. They also have a genuine respect for nature and don’t disturb the animals.

Pros: Wonderful view, the place and whole town is absolutely stunning... The stuff was very nice and helpful.

Fantastic place for wildlife

Pros: Just set back from beach so great location. Only a minute walk to mini market. Only a few minutes from the ferry terminal however check in is at a different spot in the other direction Booked wonderful tours, walking day and night, and a boat tour. Our guide Hector was fantastic. Emmanuel, the host was also wonderful and extremely helpful.

Bargain basic accommodation with great hosts

Pros: Great location just off the beach and the main Street of Tortuguero. Nice to have air conditioning and access to fridge, kettle etc in kitchen, bed comfortable. Staff were great, very welcoming and informative

Cons: Because it is on a sandbar with boat access don't expect top facilities of accommodation and plumbing

Pros: the location on the beach is exellent and so relaxing. right in the village, you can get a great experience living with the locals.

Cons: the rooms could be maintained a bit better. they were clean but the smell could be avoided.

Pros: The location right on the beach next to a beach bar is just perfect. Everything was very straightforward from the booking on, perfectly organized. And the excursions were simply amazing. It was incredible. The tranquility, the experience of the guide, the kayak tour. Even when you think there are so many boats around, the guide finds the perfect spot where you can feel alone and at peace.

Good value for money in Tortuguero

Pros: Really well located and clean (considering it’s in the middle of the rainforest). The staff is really nice and you are in front of the beach, which is really good.

Cons: The common areas could be cleaner and you need to walk a bit from the reception to the house, as they are not in the same building, I would say they are around 300-500m away. Part of the path is not concrete so it’s not really friendly with wheely luggage. My recomendation if you go is to select some backpack or not wheeled suitcase.

Great value stay in a comfortable, clean room with an incredibly welcoming and helpful host.

Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The location is fantastic, right by the beach but also only close by Tortuguero's main street with its shops, cafes and restaurants. When we arrived into Tortuguero by boat we were dropped off at Tortuguero Adventures reception, where Emanuel welcomed us and then showed us to our accommodation which was a short walk away. He was incredibly helpful (even on the following day when it was his day off) in recommending tours and places to eat, and in helping us book a boat transfer to the airstrip. We also loved his very friendly dog! It was very hot and humid in Tortuguero so the air conditioning in the room was very welcome. We had a family room which had a double bed and two bunk beds, and we arranged to have laundry done during our stay at a very reasonable price.

Cons: Nothing. The room was basic but clean, comfortable and cool which was all we needed.

Cons: Gaps in mosquito netting, unexpected walk to accommodation.
