Hotel Claro de Luna

Pros: Perfect location, beautiful gardens, amazing breakfast and great staff

Needed warmer weather to really appreciate this hotel.

Pros: The location of this hotel is excellent, a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Santa Elena. It has lovely gardens which we sat out in when the sun did come out. Our own terrace to sit out on was also welcome but it was shady so too cold for evenings. The extra blankets were welcome however. The room was large and I really enjoyed the jacuzzi bath which I used on our last night. Breakfast was simple but good quality, typical Costa Rican. It does not have facilities of some hotels but the family feel made it feel under- rated somehow.

Cons: Unfortunately we arrived when Monteverde was getting some cooler, windier and wetter weather, therefore our room was cold at night and the wind very noisy so we did not get great nights sleep. Due to the thin roofing.

Beautiful peaceful stay

Pros: Beautiful grounds and rooms, lovely breakfast and so peaceful!

Cons: Water didn’t get warm in the shower

Pros: The room was big, breakfast was good, staff were friendly and helpful. The gardens at the hotel were wonderful - lots of wild flowers and wildlife to enjoy.

Cons: Only thing missing was a safe box in the room.

Charming, super clean and comfortable room

Pros: Charming, super clean, comfortable room, in a nice garden setting. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Seeing the sloth on the property was a bonus.

Pros: Absolutely fantastic accommodation! Lovely, comfortable and clean room. Beautiful big garden, lovingly tended. Saw toucans and hummingbirds from our terrace. The staff are really helpful, giving great advice, always friendly. Perfect location, 5 minutes away from great restaurants. Felt totally at home here. I can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.

Pros: We absolutely loved Hotel Claro de Luna. From the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was very spacious with a veranda. The hotel is just a short walk to the town centre. The breakfast was amazing and especially the home made jam. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay!

Pros: This hotel was exactly as presented on the photos. Room was spacious, clean and equipped with all possible neccessities. Bed was very comfortable and it had blankets which were surprisingly useful during the night as it cools down in Monteverde after sundown. Breakfast was nice, with options to choose from. It is a hotel with a soul. Room did not have AC but it was completely not needed (at least in November) as the temperature in the room and outside was pleasant and the air is not humid at all.

Cons: Fridge in the room wasn’t cooling very well but great it was there.
