High expectations - fully met. Top in all aspects

Pros: Great location with beautiful view and plenty of wildlife, close to all attractions in area Wonderful room (suite), great design, and details (eg french press coffee maker with great regional coffee) Restaurant excellent quality of food Very courteous staff that made us feel at home (and we are spoiled!)

Pros: Location, friendly stuff, amazibg views and sunsets. Superquality food and restaurant experience.

Cons: Some constructional matters in bungalow as tge shower water made its way to room almost.

Best stay in Costa Rica :)

Truly lovely.

Pros: Floor to ceiling window in our two story loft suite, balcony, view of ocean. Walking on the reserve right next to hotel property we saw several mammals in their native habitat. The day before we did the extension bridge tour and saw none. The hotel grounds were lovely. Staff were exceptionally helpful at check-in. Room was beautiful and cozy after a day adventure hiking in rain.

Cons: The seafood entree and tropical ahi could have been better. My partner got the burger which was a great choice.

Beautiful Hotel with Amazing Food and Staff

Pros: The food was incredible from breakfast right through to dinner. Our room was beautiful and included a little kitchenette stocked with Costa Rican coffee - such a lovely touch. The reception team were amazing, especially when helping us order taxis and book excursions. In fact, all the staff were fantastic; they quickly learnt our names and made our stay feel really personal. The hotel is right next to a wildlife sanctuary where you can see sloths, a jaguar, and even a tapir. It was a wonderful experience, though quite moving to hear some of the animals’ stories - well worth visiting to support such a meaningful cause. There’s also a nature reserve you can walk through, with access costing just around $3 for the duration of your stay.

Cons: The hotel sits up a dark hill - totally fine during the day but a little spooky to walk at night! Not a fault of the hotel itself, just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to walk rather than drive. The pools were also quite small, really only suitable for one family at a time, so just need to time it well!

Pros: This hotel is absolutely worth it- the staff, the rooms, the facilities, the breakfast with a view - all of it amazing. Just an advice for the travelers using a car - do your research about the condition of the road if you are traveling from La Fortuna - you absolutely need a strong car and a lot of patience to reach your destination, but one thing is sure - the stay at this hotel will make you forget about it.

stunningly beautiful hotel in Monte Verde

Pros: stunningly beautiful hotel in Monte Verde, large and luxurious rooms, in the middle of the jungle, lots of animals around. Excellent restaurant, excellent location for those with a car, very good included breakfast according to the menu, very large and comfortable bed

Cons: Getting to the hotel is on an unpaved road like the entire area, two tiny pools. The road to the rooms can be challenging in the rain or for people with disabilities
