Convenient downtown stay

Pros: Excellent breakfast. Large room with a separate desk area & outside balcony. Excellent food at rooftop restaurant

Very nice hotel - would recommend it.

Pros: Good Breakfast - plenty of choice. Large room, very clean and comfortable bed. Central location to walk to all the tourist places of interest. Used the Hotel shuttle service from the airport which worked well.

Cons: The hotel reception staff booked transport for me to move on to Manuel Antonio via a company called Ruta C.R. Tour Operado. The car was too small and would not fit luggage in the boot! The car broke down half way there. After attempts to fix it failed, we waited for another car to be sent. We arrived 6 hours later at a cost of $260! You may wish to re-think using this company for your clientelle.

Pros: Large comfortable beds and good bathroom. Centrally located, close to the National Theatre. Breakfast good and a nice restaurant.

Cons: Bring ear plugs as the early morning train woke us up. Resturant wine was pricey, given the size of the glass. The wine was however, good quality

Good place to stay in transit.

Pros: Easy location to leave San Jose assuming you have satnav. Also they were happy for us to have our hire car delivered there.

Cons: In a bit of a grubby area but fine for one night after arriving from airport

Comfortable rooms in very central location

Pros: Big clean room (I was in the Elegant Gentleman), comfortable bed, very central location, Jorge (the porter) was great. Rooftop restaurant was good. Good WiFi

Cons: The shower in the ‘elegant gentleman’ room was difficult to use and I couldn’t get it beyond lukewarm, some instructions would be helpful. The room had two small balconies but the curtain positioning meant it was difficult to open the door. The front desk staff could have been more helpful and friendlier. The hotel staff all use the main lift, which is small, and so means as a guest you often can’t get in because there is a cleaning trolley etc. would be better to have a staff lift, especially as the stairs don’t let you get to the restaurant. The breakfast offering could be more extensive for the price. Not sure this room was necessarily worth the price on balance.

Very comfortable hotel in a super central location

Pros: I stayed in the Apex room which was super comfortable - great massive bed, pillows, shower, and a wonderful large terrace. Some of the staff eg Jorge the porter and the restaurant wait staff were really friendly and authentic, made it feel like coming home. The location is extremely central, and whilst San Jose is quite dangerous at night, the hotel restaurant and bar is great.

Cons: Breakfast could be a bit more extensive (egg station etc.). The front desk staff were only ok

Pros: The room was big, brand new and spotless. The bathroom was big and comfortable. The room was quiet, and everything was great. Breakfast was delicious. There was coffee and water all day and a nice place to chill and play checkers.

Cons: On the pricy side, and the view was on the roofs not very nice, but it was quiet.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here

Pros: Very comfortable and welcoming. The staff were so friendly, especially Christian in the restaurant. Breakfast was more than adequate and very tasty, especially the fresh fruit. The food at the Azotea restaurant was lovely and the service impeccable.

Cons: As it’s in downtown San Jose, it wasn’t recommended to go out at night, so not too much to do in the evening- it could do with maybe a gym or a games room.
