Convenient for the purpose of our visit to San José

Pros: Location is very convenient for our purposes; but there is no parking lot. Restaurant OK to have in a place like this…

Cons: For the price we paid, most of it was very good

Good choice if you just want somewhere for a night that’s close to market, museums

Pros: For the price it was a good stay for 1 night, the staff were friendly and very helpful

Cons: The breakfast wasn’t very good, we were there at opening time & saw it set up but food was already lukewarm.

Good location for a short stay in San Jose.

Pros: Great location for a short stay in San Jose. The location is great for visiting on foot the lovely, well curated Museum of Costa Rica. Having an Argentinian restaurant popular with the locals was a bonus. Make sure to make a reservation well in advance! You will be rewarded with great food and service.

Cons: Hotel did look better on the picture. Breakfast was dissapointing, but the soul at lunch time was nice…

Great place to unwind away from the city bustle

Pros: Familial hotel right in the city center (behind cathedral, close to pedestrian street and all museum, restaurants etc). Everything was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing buffet breakfast and we also had a very good late lunch!

Cons: Rooms on ground floor lacked sound-proofing. Pool look good but isn't for swimming (too small).

Pros: Good and plenty breakfast. Located close to the center. The television had many channels including English language news channels. The pool is small but clean. The junior suite is a large room with ensuite bathroom. Comfortabele large bed. Everything clean. Airco worked well.

Cons: The junior suite is at the front of the hotel, which makes that you can hear the noise of the cars, motors and buses clearly. We, however, were not hugely bothered by it. No extraction in bathroom. One bedside lamp did not work.

Pros: Hotel Colonial is located very well. They have a restaurant that is very good, so is their breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful if there are any questions. The rooms are comfortable and quite big. Felt very comfortable each time we stayed at Hotel Colonial.

Good value, nice ambiance, handy location.

Pros: I liked the style, the pool and the feel of the place. Staff were helpful. Food was good value. It was centrally located and handy for buses.

Cons: Pool is quite small- appears bigger in photos.
