Best bang for your buck not far way from the airport

Pros: - spacious room - room with bath - minbar - tidy and clean - gym on site Great breakfast buffet - restaurant next to the pool (food was really good)

Cons: - no towels in the gym - no small towels in the room

Very smart but great value and service - a real find !

Pros: Great value. We had a Premium Room on the sixth floor. Fab room - so spacious and great chilling space. Bathroom with bath and shower and all toileteries. Good quality towels. Fantastic hotel facilities - restaurants, pool, gardens etc. Breakfast great quality and choice. Near to the airport. Secure parking. Gym - all you could wish for. Staff super smartly dressed and very friendly and polite. Access to the Premium Lounge with free snacks and drinks and a chill our space was fantastic. ATM in the hotel too.Would definitely stay here again.

Cons: We had stayed here at the beginning of the holiday and we didn'realise on either occasions that we could have had a fast track check in - we waited 3/4 hour on this visit, which was a long time - staff did apologise. If that had been indicated on our booking we would have taken advantage. We also weren't told about access to the Premium lounge on our first visit and only knew about it because we spotted it and asked this time around. We found the hotel shops very expensive.

Pros: Near the airport. Good for late check in as our flight was delayed. Very smart. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Great room through booking.com

Super large bedrooms and beds.

Pros: Brilliant breakfast. Gluten free bread now available. Very helpful staff. Hotel shops are a little expensive, so take a trip into San Jose downtown for souvenirs. Hotel very clean large rooms, comfortable beds.

Pros: Nice pool area. Nice rooms. Breakfast okay but not special. It’s safe

Cons: The staff was not too friendly. The pool restaurant is not good food and the staff is unfriendly. They don’t like you ask for recommendation for the city at the reception.

A very good hotel in San José. Good value for money

Pros: A nice and clean hotel, fairly close to airport and with a good breakfast. The massage center was also a very good quality and the Japanese restaurant delicious!

Cons: The communication to book my pick up from and to the airport was neither fast, not efficient. The hotel is a bit far away from the city centre (4-5 Km, 15 minutes by car)

Pura Vida was the stay at Barcelo!

Pros: The breakfast was really good with healthy food, such as chickpea, courgette, broccoli, potato, eggs, fruits, pancakes, etc. The coffee was delicious. The bed was soft, the room was very large. There was a sitting sofa. We were at six floor, which had a premium level with lots of food and drinks. The swimming pool area had hammocks, really relaxing.

Cons: We had food in the premium level and it was a small buffet. Not every time there was a card telling which meat there was cooked. It was mostly beef or a mix of beef, pork and chicken. We do not eat beef, so after our complaint and speaking to the chef, they changed the menu for us.
