Great value friendly hotel in San Jose

Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Thanks to Marvin and the team. Clean rooms, good breakfast, lovely courtyard garden. We liked the location as it was between Parque Sabana/art gallery and the city centre, which was 20-30 mins walk away. Some may prefer a location a little closer to the centre. Pali supermarket for essentials close by

Friendly, cosy and with a lot of charm

Pros: Our first stay in Costa Rica. Such a nice welcome to the country.! Nice and helpful staff, thanks Diego and Julio! The small garden, with plants and flowers was such a delightful place for breakfast. We particularly loved the interior decoration, made with so much aesthetic quality and care.

Pros: Loved it. We arrived late at night on our first day in Costa Rica and we're so warmly welcomed. Everyone was so friendly. The rooms are clean and very big. The breakfast was very nice as well. Had the charm of an B&B with the amenities of a hotel.

Pros: Clean and comfortable historic property well located if needing access to Tica Bus terminal with suitable restaurants in short walking distance Cannot comment on breakfast

Cons: Loved the historic rooms. Would be fantastic if bathrooms renovated

A wonderful heritage hotel with plenty of character

Pros: A charming heritage hotel, built in 1910, a coffee plantation owner house full of character and beauty. Lovely courtyard with plenty of sun and plants. Staff were kind and friendly. Breakfast very good. Highly recommended.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind.

Value for money stay in a heritage property.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast included in the price. The room we were in was spacious and quiet. The beds were comfy. The shower had hot water and toiletries and measures had been taken regarding moisture extraction. There was a floor standing fan which was good to circulate air. Room was cool enough not to require air conditioning. Lovely public spaces in a heritage hotel.

We will be staying there three times for short periods in the month we are in Costa Rica. No regrets

Pros: Lovely period property converted into an hotel. Peaceful internal garden courtyard suitable for sitting, eating and drinking. Excellent good value laundry service with same day delivery. Staff all extremely helpful and willing to advise regarding San Jose and further travel. Excellent location just 10-15 min walk to central San Jose and all the main attractions. Breakfast included in the room rate

Cons: Some of the room facilities are a little dated, but it wasn’t a problem

Great place to stay if you need access to Downtown SJ

Pros: This is a lovely little hotel very close (20 walk) to Downtown San Jose. It is an old building with bags of character, which is unusual for the neighbourhood. The breakfast and staff were great!
