Pros: Upscale place with all the services or amenities you want. Excellent a-la-carte breakfast included. Nice hikes available within the property. Don't miss the guided tour. Nice and professional staff.

Stunning!

Pros: The staff were amazing and remembered who we were and always very friendly and hospitable. Very knowledgeable in both the history of the hotel, the food and the wine menu. The organic farm was fabulous and lovely to eat the eggs from the farm each day. The location was out of this world. Beautifully laid out. The grounds were gorgeous and very well maintained, even the woodland walks were very well cared for. Many activities to join in. Many woodland walks and the waterfalls are a must. Loved the horse riding. We did have an issue with the hot tub not warming but maintenance soon sorted this.

Cons: We had to call for the room to be cleaned one afternoon despite putting out the sign requesting it first thing, seemed to have been missed. Breakfast, limited supply of some items i.e. yogurt and fruit compote and only had on offer herbal tea as they had run out in English breakfast. Also, if you are on breakfast included, refills of hot drinks are chargeable as is the small carton of milk in the room for the tea and coffee facilities! Despite service and taxes included in the bill we did not expect to have a tip request on top but guess this is the American way, we did tip though as staff were lovely.

Excellent!

Pros: Truly excellent. We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and it was perfect. The hikes were beautiful, as was the lodge. Food was great too. It was an incredible stay!

Amazing setting

Pros: Fantastic location and accommodation in 2 bed villa. Staff were available and attentive. Loved the guided mystical tour and the impromptu guided bird watching walk.

A Magical Escape into Nature with Heartfelt Hospitality

Pros: From the breathtaking location to the beautifully designed rooms and the warm attention of the staff, everything at El Silencio was exceptional. The lodge offers a perfect blend of luxury and nature. A special thank you to Estafny and Esperanza for their outstanding care and genuine kindness—they truly elevated my stay. Given that the lodge is nestled in the heart of the jungle, be prepared to encounter a few bugs and spiders here and there. That said, I didn’t get bitten once, and it never felt like a problem.

Cons: There was a WhatsApp concierge service available, but responses were sometimes delayed or missed entirely. Still, this was just a minor inconvenience, as every face-to-face interaction was warm, helpful, and efficient. If there’s one small improvement to suggest, it would be curating the restaurant music a bit more thoughtfully to better match the ambiance of the space.

Pleasant stay

Pros: Tucked in the middle of the jungle, this property is charming. The cocktails were incredible and dinners delicious, which was a welcome change from the usual food you get in CR. The gym is not large but had nice equipment which was perfect for a workout when it was raining.

Cons: Our room (16) was spacious and had a lovely hot tub but unfortunately not at all with the views of the jungle / mountains we were hoping for – def make sure you request a room higher up. The yoga class could also be a little tougher than just stretches.

Beautiful and memorable family break in Domenicalito and area

Pros: Amazing views of the sea and jungle - very close to the coast and Main Street so very easy to access / go anywhere Spacious new and modern gated house fully equipped, beautiful pool was the climax - very welcoming host ! Ideal location for holidaying in this area
