Pros: For me the best in the hostel was the people, the stuff are very friendly, and the surf lessons are amazing!! The room was also good!

Solo Traveler / Tent

Pros: Stayed in one of the tents for 4 nights. Great space for solo or couple. AC was great, shower was large and semi outdoors. They say its a tent but well covered from rain. Big areas for cooking/dining spaces. Lots ofroom to hang out in communal areas. Staff were helpful. It is located in a great area close to beach and food options as well as grocery. Overall, it was a great experience.

Perfect location for anyone wanting a beach break and some surfing

Cons: Kitchen draining area and sink was really crammed. This is more down to guests than hostel

Pros: -great location, 3min walk to the beach, 2min to the supermarket -2 spacious and clean kitchens with enough fridge and freezer space for everyone -comfy common area with hammocks and tables with power outlets to work -wide selection of boards to rent for a fair price -amazing surf lessons! -the AC can be adjusted easily

Cons: The 4 bed dorm I stayed in was quite small for 4 people, narrow space between the beds so it was difficult to access your luggage under the bed if anyone else was standing in the room (but the other dorms I saw were more spacious)

Pros: Great location, across the road from playa carmen. Big hostel with lots of different kitchens, pool table, work area, chill out areas etc. Coffee is provided each morning. Rooms have air con.

Cons: Hmm little on expensive side.. although worth it for the air con.

Pros: If you're looking for really good surf coaching and a great hostel, I can only recommend El Gatos Rochas. I've been surfing for a few years and somehow got stuck. Marquitos and his team have helped me improve my surfing and switch to a smaller board. Each surf lesson is complemented by a video analysis which is not only very educational but also often very entertaining. Jana and Marquitoss, the owners of the hostel, have a talent for creating a pleasant and respectful atmosphere, although there are many people in the hostel, it is very clean and the quiet times are usually respected. They also organise boat trips and events for special occasions such as Christmas and New Year's Eve. They and their team take good care of the guests and always have lots of tips in store. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Pros: Very friendly environment, super atmosphere, and surprisingly cozy and calm night. And in Playa Carmen this is important information: absolutely no noise from that horrible street that goes through town.

Pros: Great staff and shout out to the cleaners who stay on top of everything! Would recommend the surf lessons here 👌
