Cabinas Playa Surf Hostel

Amazing value, relaxed atmosphere!

Pros: We loved our stay here so much that we rebooked for our final few nights in Costa Rica. The room was lovely and spacious, with air conditioning and a fridge (so nice to have!), and the bathroom was clean and generously sized. There was also a charming little outdoor space for relaxing, which created a sociable atmosphere as you could easily chat with your neighbours. The grounds are gorgeous, with a beautiful pool and a great chill-out area. We also really appreciated how relaxed the staff were – and that we were allowed to smoke, which most places here don’t permit. It’s close to the beach hub and the beach itself, and there’s a lovely coffee shop right at the entrance. We absolutely loved it!

Pros: Perfect hostal room with everything you need and want to keep travelling on a budget! Really nice communal chill out areas and well equipped kitchen

Pros: Excellent value, very clean and location was excellent. Shared kitchen was a bonus as was a fridge in the room

Pros: The hostel was 5 minutes walking distance from the beach, just cross the road and follow a small path.

Cons: At the first night there was music playing until 00:00h.

Cons: Kitchen could’ve been slightly better equipped

Pros: Lovely social area, along with a good sized room. It was nice to have a fridge in the room as we were there 2 weeks and were able to get everything away easily. The kitchen also had everything we needed and was big and clean!

Cons: Would be good to have some bean bags or loungers around the pool/on the top deck to chill out on.

I would recommend as the description is clear that is a hostel.[as long as the air con is working]

Pros: The location is excellent . a very short walk to the beach . the staff were friendly and the cabins were clean and simple. we liked the shaded table and chairs outside each one. The rooms are simple , which we expected, but have air conditioning and fridge.

Cons: Our air conditioning broke which was tough overnight as it was very hot. Some of our group were bothered by the noise from other guests at night [ general revelry] but with earplugs this was manageable and everyone was very friendly and good humoured.
