The Cafecito Surfhouse - Santa Teresa

I’ve had the best 8 days in this hostel!

Pros: Everything! I had the most lovely stay at this hostel. The equipment of the kitchen is much better than in any other hostel. You can get surf lessons rentals for a very good price. The beach and town is super close and you can get everything you need within minutes. As this is a very small hostel, it feels super familiar, especially due to the amazing hosts! 10/10

Best vacation ever!

Pros: Everything was really nice!! The area was wonderful, the beach was wonderful and the host was just amazing in every way. Lenin, our surf instructor was also amazing, I had never surfed before and with only three lessons I came a really long way, to actually being able to know all the basics and being able to surf! We rented an ATV for a day as well and it was a blast. We drove to a place nearby called Montezuma, and it was a really wonderful waterfall and hike to the top of the mountain. I recommend this hostel to everyone who travels to Costa Rica, it was truly something that felt like a once in a lifetime experience!!

Pros: Would have stayed muuuch longer if I could. Felt like being part of a family, loved everything about it and will definitely come back ! The house is clean and the kitchen very well equipped (much more than in a typical hostel). They also organize activities (surf lessons, boat tours etc). 100% recommend ! :)

Pros: With Cafecito Lenin and Chelsea created a wonderful place which just makes you feel welcomed. I had a wonderful time there, made new friends, watched beautiful sunset, went to partys and just felt very welcomed. The rooms have a max capacity of for 4 people, which ist great, so it is not overcroweded. Thank you for you for so many beautiful memories! ❤️ If I ever come back to Costa Rica, I would definetly stay at Cafecito again! It was my first stay at a hostel and you guys just made it wonderful! Thank you! ❤️

Pros: Chelsea is a very nice, helpful & caring host. Her friend Lenin is a very patient , good & funny surf instructor ! Very good vibes in this Hostel. Community Kitchen with all the items you need to cook or make coffee in the morning. Highly recommend the place. It’s like being roommates - almost friends - not guests. We had a lot of good talks there! Feels soo cozy within this hostel family

Friendly hosts, comfy dorms, and close to everything!

Pros: I had a great time at Cafecito! The vibe is super relaxed, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. Chelsea and Lenin are awesome hosts—so friendly and always there to help out, making it feel like home. The dorms were comfortable and clean, and the communal kitchen was a great place to chill and meet other travelers. Would definitely recommend it!

Amazing Holiday

Pros: My stay was absolutely amazing! The place is super clean and has everything you need for an epic vacation! You're just two blocks from the ocean and one block from the main street, perfect location. But what really makes this place special are the hosts, Lenin and Chelsea- they'll make you feel like part of the family! Thanks for an unforgettable experience!!

Cons: Everything was good.

Pros: We had a really warm welcome, starting with an ice-cold coconut. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming—it felt like visiting family. The place was close to the beach, and in the evening, we enjoyed watching the sunset together with them.

Pros: Very cozy hostel with very nice owners who will leave you as friends. Everything is very clean and well thought out. The hostel is quiet and offers surfing lessons. It was just perfect and I would stay there again anytime.

Great place, great people, great location!!!

Pros: Super cute little hostel! Felt very much like a home. A short walk from the beach and great restaurants. The best part is for sure the hosts Lenin and Chelsea with their good vibes and great attitude. Lenin is also one of the best surf instructors in town, so big recommendations if you are interested in learning to surf or want to improve 🔥

Cons: Going home 😢
