Pros: This is the best value place in Santa Teresa. The owner Gabi is super friendly and helpful. We stayed in the pods which were very private and good with the air conditioning. The kitchen is super well equipped and has two hobs and a huge fridge so there is always space to cook. The location is also good and only a few minutes walk to the beach.

Pros: Everything was excellent... The staff is amazing and always ready to had a good chat and teach guests new words😉 beds are super comfy, facilities clean and neat. Kitchen is very well supplied and they have one of the cleanest and neatest fridges I've ever seen.
Cons: The cat constantly jumping on the kitchen counter and on the food😭 The shower heads need to be changed I reckon, but that's just my humble opinion.

100% the best hostel ever!! The best staff, the best location, the best rooms. Simply just the best!
Pros: The pods were really really comfortable to sleep in, with a locker you can keep your things safe in. The kitchen was the best hostel kitchen we had during our trip. Quite big and very organized. Overall it’s a very social hostel and we met amazing people during both our stays. The staff is very welcoming and helpful.

Good vibes, clean and near anything you need
Pros: Supermarket is almost nextdoor and the beach was a very short walk. Even though they were doing some construction in the communal garden they were very considerate and it didn't wake me up or keep me up. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as were all the people there. The cat even sat on my lap to get some attention. Small and sweet hostel that also does board rentals. You are allowed to smoke in the communal areas (not under the roofs/around the kitchen). Plenty of places to sit and meet new people. The hallway was cleaned multiple times a day from any sand, dirt and leaves. The toilets and showers were clean and they had sizeable lockers to even lock away full backpacks (if you want). The bed lights were good and also had a power socket next to it.
Cons: Even though it's Akih Pods, it doesn't offer many pod beds. Most beds were just (sturdy) bunk beds. More hammocks would've been nice. The beds were uncomfortable and seemed old. The middle felt like a wooden plank so you had to try and lay on the edges to be comfortable. I think too many people have laid in the bed so it not longer offers support in the middle.

Pros: Very social hostel! Good value for what you pay. Good volunteers! Close to everything.
Cons: The bedrooms are super small but you're basically just in there to sleep. Aircon is way to cold.

Magical
Pros: The best hostel I have stayed in. Ever. Apart from the perfect location with regards to the beach and supermarket, the atmosphere of the hostel was magical. I formed some long-lasting connections with people all over the globe - it definitely encouraged a strong sense of creating a travelling family! The design of the kitchen and other communal areas made me want to always be lounging around in the space - very spacious and comforting. Beautiful plants everywhere which made the hostel feel peaceful and secluded. The volunteers and owners were another lovely addition I wasn't expecting - genuinely good people (with good taste in music too). I could've spent several months just in this hostel and this area - I never got bored of the vibe.
Cons: Everything was perfect - already recommended it to several other travellers I've met since leaving!

loved it!!
Pros: the staff absolutely made this hostel! so friendly and happy to help with everything from the minute we got there. they make everyone feel so welcome - there is a lovely social but chilled atmosphere here. it is located between the north and south of santa teresa so both are in easy walking distance despite it feeling a little out of town. the dorms were small but it didnt matter as we had curtains which felt very private. my favourite hostel of the trip
Cons: sometimes a queue for the bathroom
