Hotel Vista Linda Montaña

A blissful introduction to the natural diversity of Costa Rica.

Pros: The gardens were a delight. The peace and quiet. The views across the valley to distant mountains. The 2 toucans who came to visit us each morning. Renate was an exceptionally kind and generous host. We loved our little chats with her every day. Breakfast in the garden was a great pleasure. The fresh and healthy food always set us up well for the day. The location was great for a short trip from the airport but also to get to other local attractions such as La Paz and Poás.

Cons: Water pressure seemed to drop off on a couple of mornings, but that’s Costa Rica! The positives more than compensated!

Pros: The staff is most friendly, nice breakfast and a beautiful garden. We will come back!

Cons: You can hear the road on one side of the hotel. But if you turn on the ventilator you won't.

Pros: A nice hotel with a beautiful garden, swimming pool and deck. Rooms were good but it was tricky to get hot water from the shower. The owner and her friend were very friendly and helpful. They arranged an airport taxi pick up for us which was nice after a very long travel. Breakfast was continental with fruits, salads, meats and cheese, and plenty coffee. In summary: good spot with very good price/quality ratio!

Cons: No big deal, but there is no toaster or water cooker which would have been nice to make some toast + coffee or tea during the day if you have to stay a bit longer (supermarket next door)

Pros: Host was exceptional. Breakfast was exceptional. Pool was great. Room was good, even though the volcano deposted dust.

Cons: Location was not exactly what was expected. Still, the grounds were safe in an otherwise depressed surrounding.

So nice, we stayed here twice!

Pros: The rooms were clean, cozy and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. Beautiful green, quiet location not too far from San Jose. We loved watching the birds! We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean.

A perfect place when you arrrive in Costa Rica. A wonderful starting point for your holiday.

Pros: Renate is the perfect host. She organized our taxi, which we need at 1am from the airport to the hotel, our car pickup the next day and kindly drove us back to the airport at 6 am 3 weeks later. Lovely garden and beautiful sunsets. Also nice to relax at the pool. Quiet and pleasant temperature up in the hills, but close to the airport.

Nice friendly small hotel with spectacular views and close enough to the airport of San Jose

Pros: We liked very much the location, the friendliness of the owners, the organic swimming pool, the bed which was more comfortable than initially looked. The room was basic but comfortable. It could possibly be bit cleaner, we saw a cockroach leaving the room when we entered. But again, this is Costa Rica, you cannot totally avoid them.

Cons: We did not like the breakfast but this is a matter of taste. In Costa Rica we expect to offer the option of local breakfast also. At times the room was noisy from other customers, it is good though that you do not hear the airport much. We liked this hotel and we may visit again

Pros: Beautiful sunset from the raised sitting area, fabulous breakfast.

Extraordinary hospitality!

Pros: We stayed at Hotel Vista Linda Montana at the beginning and end of our trip. The owner, Renate, and her staff were wonderful. They generously allowed us to check in late, and check out VERY early. Renate even had coffee ready for us at 4 am! The hotel is beautiful with lush gardens and beautful views. We highly recommend this lovely place.

Pros: Very good location. Near the airport. We were sorry we stayed only one night. Amazing views and delicious breakfast.
