View of the Arenal volcano with a nice background garden

Pros: Spacious cabin with good beds, good shower and good toilet paper but no hooks to hang towels or other stuff. Functional fridge that has seen better days. Nice view on the Arenal Volcano (if not shrouded in clouds) from the pool area at the back of the garden where also Toucans and Hummingbirds (a.o.) can be seen. Good breakfast options but for dinner the on-site restaurant is a pricy steak-house. Lots of other dinner options available nearby however. The breakfast area should be relocated to the back garden where the guests could enjoy both views, birds, peace and quiet.

Cons: The open air breakfast area is located at the front, next to the highway that brings a lot of heavy traffic noise and exhaust fumes alike.

We would stay here again.

Pros: This was a bird watching paradise right on the edge of La Fortuna. Sitting by the pool we saw the clouds move lower and higher with the unobstructed view of Mount Arenal. The included breakfast was great and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We had plenty of hot water and the AC worked great, regardless of the wood plank walls. I was nervous that there might be more insects but we hardly saw any. This motel is a very short walk to town and close to many great restaurants and a large grocery/multi purpose store. There was a large fridge in our room but that was the only appliance. Just wear good shoes as the sidewalks to town are very rough!

Cons: The pool area is showing its age but was a nice refreshing dip. These are rustic cabins at a reasonable price so don't expect perfection. More hangers would be nice but nothing is drying here quickly!

Great location and host at lodges.

Pros: Friendly and helpful host who we also booked a tour through. Great location with view of volcano and near to lots of restaurants and gift shops.

Cons: Could do with a bedside lamp and a shelf in the bathroom to put toiletries bag on but these are just our suggestions for improvements.

Best location in La Fortuna to enjoy unobstructed view of the Arenal Vulcano.

Pros: Amazing views of the Arenal volcano - weather permitting. Perfect location just on the outskirts of La Fortuna. There are a couple of good restaurants each side and a well stocked supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Helgar was really helpful with tips how to make the most of our stay. The property is very well maintained - if you are interested in nature, you will struggle to see more birds in one place! Hummingbirds and other colourful birds are being encouraged to come and feed on the lovely planting around the cabins as well as the strategically placed feeders. The view of the volcano across the swimming pool is priceless! The breakfast, especially the fruit platter is lovely!

Great location, really high quality accomodation for the price

Pros: Lovely room, very generous. We liked the privacy our room offered, as we were right at the back of the property. I can see how rooms closer to the road would be less private, however.

Cons: The breakfast was okay at best

Pros: The little houses are big, spacious and cosy. We also had a big bathroom, very practical. AC works well, there is absolutely no noise a part from than the nature. There is a beautiful pool, with vue on the arenal. Walking distance to the fotuna center. Private Parking available in from of the room. Amazing place, really recommend!

Great location and value for money

Pros: The cottages were super cute. Location was great as it was close to the centre and walkable to many restaurants and supermarket. Parking was available right beside our cottage so was very secure. The traditional breakfast was quite good - nothing extraordinary but good for Costa Rican standards. The place was also located next to the sloth park. The rooms were big and clean.

Cons: No hooks anywhere in the room or bathroom - useful especially for rain season when we had wet stuff with us all the time. Really less lights in the room as well. The tours that they offered were more expensive so we just ended up booking them online as it was cheaper. No shelves at all in the bathroom which was annoying.

Wildlife haven

Pros: Location was excellent, easy walking distance to town centre, staff lovely and friendly, lovely breakfast each morning. So much wildlife and birds around the garden and a beautiful view of the volcano from the pool!
