A Good thing made Great
Pros: Hotel Natura was ideal for us, far enough from the main town to be quiet and pleasant but close enough you could walk to most attractions and many restaurants. If you couldn't face walking the hill, a taxi was only a few dollars. Our room was spacious and comfortable and cleaned every day. There was plenty of hot water and good WIFI. All this is great but there were two things that really set the place apart. Across the yard was a copse of trees and on any given day you could find six or eight species of birds and even some small animals. Nature truly was at Natura. But the best thing of all was Cesar who managed the hotel, served the breakfast and did everything he (and his family and staff) could to be helpful and welcoming. We were there for six nights but could have stayed more. He made a good thing, great.

Comfortable stay with great service and a quiet location — I’d definitely stay again.
Pros: The room was exactly as described and quite large, with a good hot shower. The manager was friendly, and communication via WhatsApp was excellent — taxis and tours were easily arranged, and anything I needed was sorted quickly. Breakfast was good. The location is quiet, close to the parks, and near a nice sunset spot. I’d happily stay here again.
Cons: The fridge in my room wasn’t working. There were a few ants, as expected in a cloud forest, and they didn’t really bother me. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the leading shops, with a steep uphill on the way back.

Beautiful boutique hotel
Pros: This motel appears to be new or newly renovated. It was clean, the rooms were spacious and were equipped with nice linens, with the towels changed daily. There was a fan for hotter temperatures and a space heater for cooler temperatures. Mini-fridge, coffee maker and kettle were in the rooms for use. Breakfast was made to order and was delicious. Staff took great care in making sure our needs were met, especially Cesar. The motel was about a 10 minute downhill walk to the main commercial area, but there were restaurants nearby within 2 minute walk. I booked two rooms and stayed for three nights, with my spouse and two teenaged children.

Pros: This is a small family run hotel, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast had the best bacon I have had in Costa Rica I'd booked for two but my friend couldn't make it and felt perfectly safe I could walk to Santa Elena but also Monteverde for a great view of the sunset
Cons: Not a don't like but a tip If, as I did you arrive early, make sure you have a signal or message the hotel your eta before you lose it, so you can get in, as I arrived to find the gates closed and wasn't initially able to let them know I was outside

Pros: Great little hotel with exceptionally attentive owners who would do anything to help. Breakfast was really good with three choices and was cooked fresh and delicious. Very large room with sofa, small table and chairs and little kitchen area. Comfy bed too.

Lovely small family run hotel with amazing staff
Pros: Amazing staff who were so helpful organising transfers and explaining what to do in the area. Great kitchen area and lovely breakfast included. Good storage for clothes and laundry service
Cons: Some ants but to be expected in a cloud forest
