Casa 41

Comfortable boutique in safe area but terrible communication.

Pros: I enjoyed my stay and it’s located in a good, upmarket area. The rooms are clean and comfortable too. The interiors are playful and athletically pleasing too.

Cons: I arrived a day late due to flight complications. I informed the staff via WhatsApp / booking.com in advance of my stay. Their communication is very poor as my messages were not picked up to inform them of my new arrival details. I was therefore charge for the nights stay that I missed (which was to be expected as non refundable) BUT they also charged me for the rather expensive dinner that had been prepared for me. I gave enough warning to cancel the chef (who they bring in for staying guests) but it’s clear they forgot of didn’t pick up my messages. I will have to claim the nights stay and additional dinner on insurance!

Pros: Volume of the room, very tasteful, friendliness of the owner/manager

Cons: No view on the mountains, very weak lighting, no tea in the room

Pros: I loved how welcoming we were received, and how ambient and beautifully designed everything is. Breakfast was made with so much love you could taste it! The garden is gorgeous and the personnel incredible, so sweet and passionate about making your stay just perfect. The small hotel has some really nice lounge areas that I could sit all day. It just felt very chill and relaxing. I'd definitely come back.

Cons: Breakfast was amazing but for a tall guy like my husband a bit on the smaller side but when asked more was provided. And again, we had a delicious breakfast!

Cute property and helpful staff

Pros: Cute property. Lots of interesting details around. Great surroundings. Very helpful staff. Breakfast was very tasty. We had a good rest at Casa 41 while traveling in Costa Rica.

Pros: We had a great stay. The host was very nice and caring. Breakfast was amazing. Property is nicely located. Enjoying breakfast in the garden was beautiful.

A lovely oasis with a feeling of being hugged

Pros: Family run and so friendly and safe. Loved the garden & inside outside vibe. The area is gorgeous and has great shops & restaurants. Breakfast is huge, but you can tailor it to your needs. Poor dad went from trying to feed me everything to 2 perfectly boiled eggs. A great base in San Jose and a very nice neighbourhood.

Cons: Cant think of anything whatsoever

Pros: This place is awesome! It is a boutique hotel with great service, clean beds, nice decor. The included breakfast is UNREAL! And we also had dinner there which was great. This is defiantly an alternative experience from a hotel, it is more of a house feel and very cozy with all the cleanliness and upscale expectations from a nice hotel.

Cons: At first you may find the place a little weird but once you settle in and understand what it is, it’s is extremely peaceful and a great place to stay.

Pros: Qué es muy tranquilo, como una casa familiar con hermosos detalles de decoración rodeado de vegetación. La gente es súper amable y dispuesta a ayudarte en todo lo que uno necesita . Desayuno increíble típico en una mesa comunal con vistas maravillosas al jardín . Un lugar para parar y volver siempre

Fijne rustige plek buiten het centrum van San José. De tuin en de inrichting laten je je thuis voelen.
