Essence Arenal Spa & Yoga

Essence Arenal is an ecological hotel surrounded by Tropical Forest that offers a wellness center to tourists, it is surrounded by gardens and beautiful views of Lake Arenal, the Arenal Volcano and Cerro Chato. Its location is in the Castle, 10 km from the Arenal Volcano National Park and 12 kilometers from the hot springs. It offers accommodation, gardens, trails, volleyball court, organic farm, free parking, WiFi, outdoor pool with water from a spring. Additional services are offered such as Yoga classes, Temazcal, Spa Circuit (jacuzzi, Turkish bath and sauna), Massages, different therapies such as Reiki, Ionic Detox, cooking classes. The cocoa tour, bird tour day and night are also offered. We have our Essence Restaurant that offers vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free breakfasts, à la carte lunches and themed dinners, all created with local products or from the Essence organic farm. Essence has rooms with a wardrobe, tiled floors and a private bathroom equipped with a shower and free toiletries. Paid laundry service is available. The reception provides tourist information and is open from 07:00 am to 21:00 pm everyday. If you plan to arrive outside reception hours, you must notify Essence, and they will provide you with the information necessary to do the check-in process. You can do so in the special requests section. Juan Santamaría International Airport is a 3-hours away

Peace and tranquility and wonderful people.

Pros: Staff were wonderful, welcoming and helpful at all times. They genuinely care about giving you the best experience possible.

Cons: It’s expensive getting around if you don’t have your own transportation.

Amazing nature, food and yoga experience!

Pros: A resort focused on nature, yoga, healthy body and mind. Cosy rather than posh! Enthusiastic staff. The food and yoga were amazing! The trails on the terrain itself are beautiful. Don’t miss the trogon trail. Our apartment was very comfortable and we got a nice upgrade; thank you!

Cons: Nothing, but it is good to know that the resort is spread out across a big area. There are shuttles on site, but a car of your own is most convenient.

A life changing experience - with significance for the rest of my life!

Pros: The dedicated, creative, supportive, customer orientated staff. Truly exceptional! We did a three day full body detox and felt supported all the way. Lovely wildlife and excellent yoga sessions. Lovely views of the garden with hummingbirds. Excellent spa facilities!

Cons: The seating I found uncomfortable.

Exceptional place to stay in Costa Rica

Pros: We had an excellent time at the hotel. The wellbeing facilities are amazing, the room was spotless and beautiful, and the dinners were absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients from the hotel’s own organic farm. Most of all, the people there were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Their outstanding hospitality truly made our honeymoon special and unforgettable. Cons: Hard to get in and out (and even to the room) without a car.

Clean room with great facilities

Pros: Super great hotel complex, with a view of the volcano. We could see more animals from our room than on the hike in the national park! The staff were super nice and helpful, the food was awesome and everything was very clean👍
