Hotel Monte Real

Great hotel, highly recomment.

Pros: Grounds were beautiful, breakfast was very good. Welcome drink was also excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful, Room was large and clean.

2 nights in La Fortuna.

Pros: The location was great for getting into town. The hotel is next to a small river and some forest with lots of wildlife. The restaurant to the hotel was great and had a good selection of food.

Cons: The rooms are a little dated, but still tidy.

Pros: The towel fold, good breakfast by the river, good location to walk to restaurants. Theres a small frog garden but we didnt see any frogs unfortunately.

Cons: Very noisy when its raining and windy

Pros: The Garden view from our room on the second story was exceptional. I could see all sorts of birds. I even saw toucans! Very clean and well maintained. Has a mini resort feel. Good space. It was worth it getting the included breakfast. Delicious fruit and coffee and a good selection of breakfast cooked fresh for you.

Pros: Restaurant was fantastic and some of the best food we had on the whole trip. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and the location was amazing. The hotel grounds were very pretty and well kept.

Cons: Not much to dislike.

A hidden gem, great for wildlife spotting

Pros: Absolutely loved our stay here. The location with the lush river backdrop and the beautiful garden was amazing. It was so quiet. We saw a sloth right on the first day, also toucans, frogs, poison dart frogs, a king fisher, iguanas, vultures. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the à la card breakfast was cooked to our liking. The veggie omelet was really great. The balcony was great to dry clothes and the fridge was really big.

Cons: I would have liked tea making facilities in the room but that doesn’t seem to be a thing in CR in general.

Good solution for a night or two, if passing through La Fortuna.

Pros: Convenient location, just a few blocks from the main square and town centre. Nice and friendly service - in the reception, at the restaurant and by the cleaning staff. Spacious room. The hotel did not really look too modern, but was a comfortable, convenient stay for us for 1 night. Really tasty omelette in the morning :). Good solution if only passing through La Fortuna. If staying more than a night or two, I would opt for something fancier though.

Cons: Pool looked like an unclean, unused bathtub, full of debris.

Would absolutely thoroughly recommend!

Pros: This was an absolute gem of a hotel on our travels. The staff were lovely, an amazing spot with gorgeous gardens by the riverand we had a great large room at the back of the hotel.

Cons: Nothing! Everything was great!

A relaxing stay at a beautiful place with friendly staff.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. You have a great view of the Arenal volcano. There is a lovely garden and beautiful trails.

Pros: Very nice hotel with beautiful garden, swimming pool and friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent and cocktails delicious
