La Fortuna Downtown Boutique Hotel

Great location right in the thick of La Fortuna, very comfortable and a great bar, restaurant and staff

Pros: Location and facilities were top notch if you want to be in the middle of La Fortuna - the property has a fine restaurant which also does great breakfasts, and a bougie little bar area for pre dinner drinks - cocktails a specialty and bar meals also available

Cons: We booked two rooms at the same time and ended up at different ends of the hotel, our cleaning and service levels were great but our family’s not so good - not cleaned once in four days. The only other thing to be aware of is road noise which can start rather early in the morning and no dedicated parking if you have a hire car

Nice hotel in a good location

Pros: The location was fantastic! Right in the center of town across from the park. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The reception was fantastic and they gave us free drinks when we arrived and allowed us to keep our bags with them and use the bathroom since we left after check out.

Cons: They put us in a handicap room even though that was not what we reserved. The room was on the first floor and we could not open the blinds because everyone could see in. Because it was on the first floor it was also noisy and poorly ventilated. I think it would have been a lot nicer if we were in a different room. The pool looked nice, but we did not see a single person in the pool since it is basically in the middle of the restaurant.

Pros: Good location, good breakfast and friendly staff. Liked the bar attached too.

Cons: Smell from drains/sewage when raining, they gave us an air freshener to help. No where to sit next to pool.

Pros: Hotel is very central and provides a pick up location for any trips you are planning. Reception are helpful if you need any ideas. Many restaurant options in the surrounding area in addition to the on-site chef. Rooms are characteristic of other accommodation in Costa Rica.

Pros: I liked everything about this little boutique hotel. We had breakfast and a dinner in the restaurant in the hotel, both meals were excellent. We had planned on dining at the Soda that is behind this property, however, they were closed on that Monday, so we just decided to dine at the hotel, which ended up being an excellent choice. It's too bad that we were only able to get the rooms for 1 night, so we had to stay at Monte Real for the other night for our 2 day stay in La.Fortuna.

Cons: It's too bad that the pool is not really usable, as it is right beside the restaurant. Looks more to be just an ornamental pool!

Perfect location and enjoyable stay!

Pros: We enjoyed our stay and it was a great location right in the middle of La Fortuna. The breakfast was perfect and the staff were friendly and supportive.

Brilliant stay & very helpful staff

Pros: The hotel was in a great location to find places to eat and walk around the shops. It was a 2 minute walk from the bus station too. The room was very clean and the balcony was a nice place to sit even when it was raining as it is covered. The staff were very helpful with booking tours & general advice and recommendations for the area. The breakfast was brilliant with lots of options for food.

Cons: The pool, whilst a nice temperature and generally very quiet, was that it was located right next to the restaurant / bar so it felt quite overlooked & there were no sun loungers to hang out on or to leave your belongings on.

Volcanic visit

Pros: Large comfortable room. Great pool area. Really friendly staff. Close to all amenities and restaurants. Great transfers!

Cons: Nothing. All great.

La Fortuna Centre Base

Pros: In the middle of town, easy parking and a very friendly staff athmosphere

Cons: Room was so small and everyone could watch in, so we had to keep the curtain closed day and night

Dowtown Hotel is a great place to stay for a few days exploring the nature around La Fortuna.

Pros: Hotel is located in the center of town near of all animations, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets. Breakfast was excellent and the Ventanita prepered one of the best burger on town. It must be mentioned the staff was super helpful and friendly. Mayfel, Miguel, Josha, Vanessa, and support staff provided an excellent services.

Cons: The only shortcoming was the network (Internet) was not consistence and realible.
