Oasis by Franklin Hotel Boutique

Pros: The hotel is in a nice position and very silent, the room was basic but clean. The pool is also cool, and Pepe the sloth in front living in front of the hotel iis the best perk.

Cons: Room description on Booking didn't match the room we got, I suggest updating it to avoid disappointments. We also had to pay the Booking.com commissions, which wasn't nice. Having some extra space to put the luggage on in the bedroom would also be nice.

Nice place to stay in La Fortuna

Pros: Franklin and his staff were helpful. The room was comfortable and seemed pretty new. Walking distance from the town centre. Pepe was hard to find, but we did eventually see him. There's a pool under construction. The kitchen was well stocked. They had laundry (washer and dryer) avaliable.

Cons: Difficult to find. Google takes you to the right location, but there's no sign on the gate. The buildings transmitted some noise from people talking on the level below.

Cons: If you dislike the noise of running water (the river runs under the floors) then this isn’t for you. It didn’t bother us but it could irritate some

Better than the pictures!

Pros: The accommodation looks much better and more luxurious in person than in the pictures! Very clean, good airco and washing facilities. The hosts are very kind and give good tips on restaurants and activities (and what nót to do). They have a Sloth Pépé living in the garden! They are also building a pool, so the stay at this accommodation can only get better!

Pros: The hotel met the expectations I had. Friendly and reliable hosts. The best part is Pepe, the sloth. Pepe lives on a tree at this hotel and it was amazing to be able to see him😻

Great location, a great find tucked away in the town centre but quiet.

Pros: There is no breakfast. It’s a new hotel so super clean and comfortable. The property feels secure as there is a gate that is locked at 6pm - only guests have the code. As two females this was important to us. And we walked everywhere in La Fortuna town from here very easily. Go to the chocolate shop! There is a great view of the Arenal volcano from the shared kitchen area.

Cons: It’s hard to find. There’s a hotel next door that directed us to it. Maybe they will get a sign later! We stayed twice in 3 days (Sun and Tues) Both times our air conditioning didn’t work and a technician was called and luckily it was able to be fixed but it was so hot and we needed it because it was 35 degrees. We went out to walk and find dinner and the room was cool when we returned each time. Minor annoyance and the staff were very apologetic each time! 😊

Great space close to town centre.

Pros: This property is not well marked from the outside and we had to ask at a nearby hotel where it was. When we found it there is no reception the woman lives a few doors down. Once we found her it is beautiful, very new looking and no issues at all to report. The ac wasn’t working when we arrived but she had it dozed by the time we returned from dinner. The gates are locked and you leave and enter with a code after 6pm so we felt safe and secure at the property. We asked for more towels and they were provided with no issues.

Cons: We stayed there one night and again 2 nights later. Each time the a/c didn’t work when we arrived. The woman in charge called a technician both times to fix it and it was fixed by the time we got back from eating dinner. This was great but even better would have been if she made sure it was working before we arrived especially the second time. She is young and the property is new and very clean so I’m sure with time this place will improve even more.

Excellent location, nice accommodations, nice people.

Pros: The location was excellent and only three-blocks to the center of La Fortuna. The room was nicely equipped and clean. Access to a washer and dryer was a nice bonus. The owner, Franklin, was very nice and easy to work with.

Cons: The living area, bedroom, and bathroom are all on different levels and it is hard to see this at night. A safety light at each step or different-colored flooring might help avoid a stubbed toe. Check-in was a little weird - a fellow guest told us to go two doors down the street and knock at an unmarked location to find the owner and get the key (after that, all was good).

Pros: One of the best Hotels we had on our trip. Beautiful look on the vulcano and nice rooms overall. The location is central but not noisy. Its all new and modern especially the bathroom. The highlight was the resident sloth. Franklin and Melissa are absloutly lovely and helpful. We had a flat tire and Franklin took us to a workshop near the hotel to fix it. I would recommend to stay here.

Cons: Some hooks for the towels but this is negligible.
